I begrudge the BBC being allowed to have the iPlayer (cr)app on a TV that I've paid for by default and can only be uninstalled if your happy to lose all the Freeview on-demand apps you are allowed to use legally. At least when I bought a Chromecast, the app doesn't get pre-installed by default, just a shame I can't get ads for their crap programmes on the home screen, but at least the apps not on there! 🖕(If anyone can tell me how to remove their banner ads on Chromecast homescreen, I would be most greatful)

I got a letter this morning. it had my address on it. Then under that was a cleared out strip saying under investigation as clear as day for anyone to read. So it's a form of blackmail. letting the postman or anyone else that sees it to know that the address doesn't have a licence. I don't even watch tv. But i will not be contacting them.

Someone came to my door, I caught her on my camera, my dog started barking so they would know someone is there, they also don't know my name as I have never got in touch with them. I am wondering if these letters fall under false advertisement? I remember an TV program where Derren Brown did this thing on national television where he somehow controlled the nation by making them stuck in their seats. During the build up to that, one of the things he did was take a lady around a shop to pick a specific item and he used something called "Perception without awareness". He had suggestive things around the shop that basically made the lady pick a giraffe teddy. The same thing use to be used by cinema's in the old days before a law came out telling cinema's that they could not longer do advertisements like this. For example: before the movie started, an advertisement would show and say "Hungry? Buy Popcorn" or "Thirsty? Buy a Coke". This was all stopped because it fell under "Perception without awareness". What if these threatening letters fall under the same thing? "This a warning - If you don't buy a TV License, you could be fined £1000 and put in prison". This could be in the sense of false threatening letters, leading people to think that they MUST pay for the TV License otherwise face bad consequences. Would need someone legal to look into this though as this is just a theory. But it would fall under advertisement because they are attempting to get you to purchase a product that you do not actually need to have unless you watch live television.

I made the decision to phone them every single time I get a letter and challenge them on this "investigation", of course I don't give them any information, don't answer their questions, I only give them my case ID on the letter so they can can bring up my 'investigation' on their computer. So far they have not investigated anything, don't know my name, and couldn't even answer what floor of the building I live in. It's all a scam, disgusting attempt to scare you into paying. Has anyone tried suing them for harassment and fraud?

What every body is missing here is the BBC originally were radio licenses. Top 30 was the first ever radio for bands and singers songs music. TV in the UK was never cheap only the rich had and was on I am not sure but think on a radio license. TV in the UK was not cheap until the 1960s I would like to know when the TV license happened.? Now as the BBC are taking away the radio stations this means the BBC is a failed cooperation not fit for purpose. As for BBC in other countries and doing adverts they only could do that with license payers money from the start. We own BBC in all countries around the world time to call that in force BBC to sell them all off and put that money back in to the BBC not get invested in by Bill Gates the Possible criminal.

I haven't had a TV for about Fifteen years , don't watch catch up stuff or live stuff . Basically just watch stuff on RUclips . These idiots still send me letters about needing a license . I just bin them . No interest in the rubbish they put out for entertainment . I used to really like the David Attenborough stuff but I haven't watched that for years .

Please do take them to court for harassment… we’ll all join you for a class action style case! I’ve got a 6 year stack of unwarranted threats kept aside too.

Own 2 TVs, both in storage, never been sent a tv license request to that address, yet at my home, I’ve had tens of demanding letters from the bbc goons, where I have NO tv or even watch live broadcast content. Don’t have an aerial or satellite dish...wtf... and I’m assumed to be an ‘evading’ citizen, yet I abide by the current law...

These letters go straight in the bin, unopened. I don't know anyone who goes by the name "legal occupier" at my property. Im not opening someone else's mail.
